Word Ministries of Russia & Ukraine

In 2020, Bobby McDonald began attending Covenant Baptist Church. After some discussion and prayer with the elders, they agreed to partner with his ministry The Word Ministries of Russia. The Word Ministries of Russia has been working to strengthen the church in Russia for over twenty-five years in similar ways to CBC’s work in India and Kenya.

Bobby McDonald and team made their first trip into Russia, landing in the Far East in a town called Khabarovsk, in 1989. In the 36 years since that first visit, Bobby and his team have been in and out of Russia so many times they have lost count. In 2019 they made the first of many trips into Ukraine, with the most recent trip in May of 2025.

The Word Ministry of Russia and Ukraine has accomplished many amazing projects and ministries.

• Building the first true Christian Rehab center in Khabarovsk (Harbor Rehab Center).
• Continue to support several Orphanages in Khabarovsk.
• Sponsor the Mothers Near Project. This ministry supports women who want to keep their new born babies and not abort them. We supply them with housing, training in child care, skills training and helping them find jobs, and helping them complete their education.
• Support at least 4-7 Bible Summer camps yearly both in Ukraine and Russia.
• Support Wise Carpenter. Wise Carpenter is a church sponsored ministry where men mentor young boys and girls, many of whom are orphans. Twice a week, these kids are taught skills in carpentry and have Bible studies with their mentors. Remember Jesus’s earthly father Joseph was a carpenter. Of course, his Heavenly Father is the master carpenter.
• Support Pastor Benjamin of the Far East of Russia, Bishop over 40+ churches.

In Ukraine and Russia, the Word Ministry of Russia and Ukraine are also translating, printing, publishing, and distributing new biblically sound Christian reading materials in book or tract form.
