India Missions
The ministry in India has been a part of Covenant since its beginning in 1993. The Mission Team is presently working in the state of Andhra Pradesh and the area of Markapur. Indigenous pastors are trained there that they may be better shepherds of their flocks. Many poor are reached in the villages in outlying areas. We reach out to the nursing mothers with food and to those who can read with Bibles in the Telugu language. The Gospel is preached in the villages and gospel tracts are given out by the thousands. The Proclaimer is an instrument that we are able to give to the village leaders so that the illiterate villagers might hear the New Testament daily. Covenant has a church planted in Guntur with a full-time pastor being supported by his own congregation and by Covenant. With 1.5 billion people, India is truly a field to be harvested.
