Covenant Baptist Church (CBC) has always had a strong foreign missions outreach in India and Kenya. Over the past few years, our elders have been praying and pursuing options for extending our local outreach. In 2020, Mark Corral and his family began visiting CBC as they were praying about and preparing for starting a church plant in the Northeast Columbia area. Mark began meeting with our elders and by God’s providential hand, they came to the conclusion that the new church should be planted in the Rock Hill area.
Mark became elder-in-training with CBC for this church plant and will go through the elder training process with CBC. On July 26, 2020, about twenty-five souls gathered together for corporate worship as the church plant officially met for the first time. God provided them with a place to meet through another church in the area. The rent is affordable and they are able to meet there on Sunday afternoons at 4:00 PM. On September 6, 2020, this small gathering of believers signed a covenant to become Grace Covenant Church. Mark and Charles Swann (CBC elder) are currently sharing the preaching responsibilities.
Jesus said in His model prayer that we should pray for protection from the evil one and ask the Father for daily provisions.
Pray for the saints at Grace Covenant Church
This small group of saints is seeking to be salt and light in the Rock Hill area as they are continually reformed by God’s word. Their desire is to be a church where God’s word is the rule and authority over their worship, families, and evangelism. Please pray that the Lord will keep them from stumbling and that He would continue to provide for their needs.
Pray for the Corral family.
Mark is working a full-time job, studying at Reformed Baptist Seminary, is an elder-in-training at CBC/GCC, and is the prophet, priest, and king to his family of eleven. Ali, Mark’s wife, works diligently to care for and educate their nine children and to be the companion she knows Mark needs. Please keep them in your prayers as this world and the evil one will be working hard to distract and discourage them.
