Missions
Covenant Baptist Church’s mission program shows a congregation that truly has a heart that is focused on evangelizing the world as commanded by God in the many verses of Scripture.
Verses: Ps. 2:8; Ps.22:27; Ps. 68:31; Ps.96:3; Is. 2:2; Is. 11:9; Is. 42:4; Dan. 2:44-45; Matt.24:14; Matt.28:19-20; Mk. 16:15; Luke 24:46-49; Jn. 20:21; Acts 1:8; Rev.14:6 as well as many more.
Covenant Baptist Church number one task is to glorify God. Secondly, to proclaim the gospel of the risen Savior, and thirdly, to advance the kingdom that God is building in our local area as well as around the world.
Covenant Baptist Church seeks to be a transforming presence in the heart of West Columbia and the surrounding communities with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Covenant Baptist Church desires to advance the Kingdom of God worldwide by engaging every member of the congregation in the church’s missions program by sharing resources for the ministry of Christ in word as well as in deed, and in sending workers to partner with other Christians in the building of the church in West Columbia as well as to the ends of the earth.
Covenant Baptist Church is currently involved in mission work in the following areas:
India: Carried on since 2001 by a group of members and non-members called The Mission Team. Each March the Mission Team goes to minister in Andhra Pradesh, India. You can help support the financial needs for this ministry with your online gifts here.
India Orphanage:
We’ve begun working with our sister church in Guntur, India to start an orphanage for street children. Read more about it here.
Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA:
In 2020, the Lord answered our prayers about extending Covenant Baptist’s local missions effort through the Corral family in Rock Hill, SC. Mark Corral and his family have been praying about and preparing for starting a church plant in the Northeast Columbia area. After some discussion with our elders, the decision to put the church plant in the Rock Hill area was made. Mark is now an elder-in-training with Covenant Baptist Church for this church plant. The church plant officially met for the first time on July 26, 2020. Please pray for the Rock Hill church plant and the Corral family. If you would like more info, contact any of the elders or elders-in-training at Covenant. Read more here.
The Word Ministries of Russia, Ukraine, China, & North Korea:
AID TO UKRAINE
As the Olympics came to an end, the invasion of Ukraine began. February 24th will go down in history as the day the mighty nation of Russia attacked its little brother, Ukraine. The Word Ministries of Russia has been in contact with several churches we trust and have worked with before, including Master’s International and HeartCry Missonary Society, and we are at present setting up relief stations along the refugee routes. We also have associates working in Romania, Moldova, and Slovakia.
In 2020, Bobby McDonald began attending Covenant Baptist Church. After some discussion and prayer with the elders, they agreed to partner with his ministry The Word Ministries of Russia & Ukraine.
